MT. Kailash & Lake Mansarovar

According the Srutis and Smirtis Mt. Kailash, The snow jewel crowning the roof of the world, is the most sacred and admired. Kailash is also known as Mt. Meru, the centre of cosmos, navel or the axis of Earth, Mt. Sumeru etc. According to the Hindu Mythology Lord Siva resides on the summit of Kailash and is in constant meditation ensuring continuity of three aspects of the universe - creation, preservation and destruction. Thus Siva represents the Trinity - Brahma, Vishnu and Mahadeva. Kailash is Siva personified and he takes earthly form in Kailash. It is in the centre of the universe and the sun, the moon, the stars an all the higher and lower worlds regularly circumambulate (round) this centre, Kailash, unlike other mountains of the world, has distinct shape with features most peculiar and pious both outwardly and eternally that are not known anywhere else. Kailash rises like symmetrical domed rock temple covered with ice and snow.

Amarnath yatra

The ban on raising the slogan of "Bharat mata ki jai" during the annual Budha Amarnath pilgrimage in Poonch district triggered angry protests here today. Amarnath..fair & lovely….LOL.
